The World Poker Tour is wrapping up, and the European young gun known as Patrik Antonius is making his American counterparts a bit nervous. For the second day running, Antonius has maintained the chip lead, which gives him a nice starting position to finish out the 2005 Bellagio’s Five Diamond Classic main event. With him in the top ten are, from lowest to highest chip counts, Jeff Rine, Don Zewin, Jeff Littlefield, Ron Kirk, Barny Boatman, Phil “Unabomber” Laak, Doyle Brunson, Alan Goehring, and Darrell Dicken running in second.
Also in the running, but not in the top ten, are well known poker pros such as John D’Agostino, Dewey Tomko, Barry Greenstein and Clonie Gowan.
Just a few months ago the current chipleader was leading in Europe as well. Antonius took third in the Eurpoean Poker Tour, and won the Scandinavian poker Championships. |
