The Austrian gaming company BETandWIN.com has made an offer that Erik Hornell and his three sons can’t refuse. In what stands to be a multi-billion kroner deal, BETandWIN.com will be acquiring Ongame, the company that operates PokerRoom.com. As Hornell and his boys own 53% of Ongame, they stand to make a healthy profit. Approaching three billion kroner will go to Erik, the father, and brothers Karl, Oskar and Johan.
The team of Swedish IT entrepreneurs started Ongame in 1999, and the company has piloted PokerRoom.com to its current industry excellence. The site is ranked third in the world among online poker rooms, with six million registered users and millions of dollars a year in revenue, mostly from the western markets of the United States and Canada. Six years of hard work will pay very well for the Hornell clan, all of whom can now retire as millionaires. |
